With Jan and I now both 77 years old it is time to start planning to reduce some of the work load. Personally I still enjoy the work around the lake. It might feel a bit more daunting and take me a bit longer to push a barrow of chipped limestone the 850 yards, from our barn, where the 13 tonnes gets delivered, to Billy no Mates but I can still do it ………. Just!
More importantly I love seeing people catching carp in mint condition.
My bigger concern is that Jan is tied in to cooking 7 days a week throughout our season. She loves cooking and, as everyone will testify, she’s bloody good at it. If we can offer special deals which reduce the numbers most weeks it will give our anglers some very good options as well as making it much more pleasant for Jan to cook for less people.
It will also create a level of far less angling pressure overall. This will ensure that the carp maintain their top condition all year round.
My thoughts are that we want to keep the availability for lone anglers or pairs so we will keep the current prices for individual anglers at £580.00 each per week for the weeks in April and September and £395.00 for all other weeks and both of those prices include meals. We will also happily negotiate exclusive deals for bigger groups because I think these will be fewer in number.
However, we will now also offer new options as follows:-
1. “For the weeks in April and September, there is the option of exclusive use for up to 6 anglers for the total price of £3,000.00 including meals.”
2. “For all other weeks there is the option of exclusive use for up to 4 anglers for the total price of £2,000.00 including meals.”
All existing bookings will be honored, plus, if a pair of anglers who have already booked but now want to add a couple of friends to take advantage of the exclusive offers, that can also be accommodated.
We are very proud of the quality of the food that Jan and Sharon produce and, if you choose the meal package, it consists of a breakfast of 2 sausages, 3 eggs and bacon pieces in half of a baguette, delivered to your swim each morning in order to avoid missing the prime bite time. (Be prepared, it is a huge meal to start your day.) We can offer alternatives of continental breakfasts or lunch-type baguettes such as tuna mayo or ham and cheese if you prefer. Our evening meals are a home prepared and cooked main course plus a desert served in the Gravel Bar. In order to get exactly what you and your friends are looking for please email me, or use the contact form below, with your phone number and I will call you back as soon as I can Keith Moors “keith@moorlandfisheries.co.uk”
